Nine medals at the memorial tournament

The Hasan Gemici and Gazanfer Bilge Memorial Wrestling Tournament was held in Kocaeli, Türkiye.

Five of our wrestlers reached the podium during the final two days of the traditional tournament. In freestyle wrestling, Ruslan Abdullayev (65 kg) won gold, while his teammate in the same weight category, Musa Aghayev, claimed bronze. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Ruslan Nurullayev (77 kg) and Tuncay Vazirzade (87 kg) were crowned champions. Nihat Mammadli (63 kg) took home the bronze medal.

As a reminder, our wrestlers won four medals on the opening day of the competition. In freestyle wrestling, Ketag Karsanov (125 kg) won silver and Ramik Heybatov (70 kg) claimed bronze. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Sarkhan Mammadov (130 kg) took silver, while Beka Kandelaki, our other representative in the heavyweight category, won bronze.
