Gunay Gurbanova wins bronze at World Championships

The U20 World Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria, continue.

On the fourth day of competition, Azerbaijan claimed its first medal in women’s wrestling.

In the 59 kg bronze medal bout, Gunay Gurbanova faced Canada’s Ella Findling. The points scored in the opening period proved decisive, as Gurbanova secured a 4-1 victory to earn a place on the podium.

With this result, Azerbaijan’s medal tally at the World Championships has risen to four. Earlier in the tournament, three of the nation’s freestyle wrestlers captured bronze medals.
