Our national team became European runner-up

The U17 European Championships held in Samokov, Bulgaria have concluded.

Our freestyle wrestling national team delivered a successful performance, winning 3 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals. With a total of 156 points, our team finished as European runner-up in the team standings, just 7 points behind champions Russia. Georgia completed the top three with 124 points.

It should be noted that under the leadership of Senior Coach Asgarxan Novruzov and coaches Vahid Mammadov, Yashar Aliyev, and Allahverdi Valiyev, Huseyn Rzazada (48 kg), Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg), and Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg) became European champions. Rashid Nazarov (65 kg) won a silver medal, while Tunar Hasanov (45 kg), Abbas Shafiyev (55 kg), and Hakim Taghiyev (110 kg) claimed bronze medals.
