Wrestling stars meet children at the June 1 festival

A special event was held in the historic Inner City (Icherisheher) on the occasion of June 1 – International Children’s Day.

The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation took part in the festival organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan.

Young athletes, the heroes of the day who are taking their first steps in wrestling, demonstrated various wrestling techniques during the event. Renowned figures of Azerbaijani wrestling — Namig Abdullayev, Farid Mansurov, Jabrail Hasanov, Rovshan Bayramov, Haji Aliyev, Vitali Rahimov, Taleh Mammadov, and Agahuseyn Mustafayev — met with the children and spent an enjoyable time with them.

J. Hasanov, R. Bayramov, H. Aliyev, and T. Mammadov conducted masterclasses. An autograph session featuring wrestlers who have left a significant mark on the history of Azerbaijani wrestling was also organized.

As part of the event, a competition was held among the children to test their knowledge of wrestling. The winners were presented with gifts.
