World championships logo unveiled
July 13, 2026
The official logo of the U17 World Wrestling Championships, which will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku from July 27 to August 2, has been approved.
The logo was designed based on a visual concept that combines the sporting spirit of the competition, its international character and Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage.
At the center of the logo are two stylized wrestler figures representing struggle, competition and the universal language of sport. The dynamic composition reflects the core philosophy of wrestling – strength, determination and fair competition.
The predominant blue color of the logo is one of the key elements of United World Wrestling’s (UWW) corporate visual identity. UWW widely uses a blue-and-white color palette in the branding of its World Championships, emphasizing the visual identity of its competitions.
The ornaments used around the outer ring of the logo were inspired by the carpet-weaving traditions of Karabakh. The national patterns symbolize Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, the ancient carpet-weaving school of Karabakh and the promotion of national art on the global sporting stage. At the same time, the logo highlights the harmony between an international sporting event and Azerbaijan’s national and cultural values.
Hundreds of promising young athletes from various countries will compete at the first World Wrestling Championships of the year.
