Women’s wrestling competition concludes at U17 world championships

The U17 World Wrestling Championships continue in Baku.

On the fifth day of the competition, held at the National Gymnastics Arena, the women’s wrestling events came to an end.

Gulkhanim Shirinova (40 kg) defeated Mongolia’s Azzaya Battulga by technical superiority (10-0) in the repechage. However, our representative lost 4-12 to Türkiye’s Sirin Askara in the bronze-medal bout, finishing in fifth place.

Fatima Bayramova (53 kg), meanwhile, lost 0-2 to Hungary’s Maria Jitovoz in the repechage.
