Two more medals at the European championship

The U23 European Wrestling Championship in Zrenjanin, Serbia, is nearing its conclusion.

On the sixth day of the competition, two of our Greco-Roman wrestlers stood on the podium.

Farid Sadikhli (55 kg) lost to Russia’s Alibek Amirov in the final based on the last point principle (3:3) and claimed the silver medal.

Ilkin Gurbanov (63 kg) defeated France’s Lukas Grasso (4:2) in the repechage and then overcame Georgia’s Rati Khozrevanidze by fall in the bronze medal match, finishing third in Europe.
