Twelve Azerbaijani wrestlers to compete in Kyrgyzstan

Turkic States Universiade will kick off tomorrow in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
The event, held for the third time, will feature six sports: wrestling, judo, chess, table tennis, volleyball, and futsal.
Wrestling competitions in freestyle and Greco-Roman will be contested in Olympic weight categories. According to the regulations, the Universiade is open to student-athletes aged 17–25. The wrestling events will take place on September 6–7 at the sports hall of the “Ruh Ordo” cultural center.
In freestyle wrestling, under the guidance of head coach Arif Abdullayev and coach Ashraf Aliyev, Azerbaijan will be represented by Vasif Baghirov (57 kg), Musa Aghayev (65 kg), Ramik Heybatov (74 kg), Ashraf Ashirov (86 kg), Islam Ilyasov (97 kg), and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg).
In Greco-Roman wrestling, coaches Akif Aliyev and Zohrab Abbasov will lead Vedat Qasimli (60 kg), Roman Karimov (67 kg), Javad Mammadov (77 kg), Orkhan Hajiyev (87 kg), Ali Guliyev (97 kg), and Mezaim Mardanov (130 kg).
On September 6, champions will be determined in freestyle 57 kg, 74 kg, and 97 kg, as well as in Greco-Roman 60 kg, 77 kg, and 97 kg. Medalists in the remaining weight categories will be decided the following day.
