Turan Dashdemirov reaches World Championship final

The U20 World Wrestling Championships continue in Samokov, Bulgaria.
On the sixth day of competition, four of Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman wrestlers took to the mat.
Turan Dashdemirov (55 kg) defeated India’s Anil Mora on criteria (9-9) and then outclassed Ukraine’s Nazariy Babinski with a technical superiority (10-0) to advance to the semifinals. There, he dominated Japan’s Daisuke Morishita with a 10-2 victory. Dashdemirov will now face Iran’s Payam Balutaki in the final.
Faraim Mustafayev (67 kg) beat Armenia’s Narek Grigoryan 3-1, Ukraine’s Vladyslav Pokotylo 4-3, and Turkey’s Abdullah Keskin 7-2 to secure a spot in the semifinals. However, he was defeated by Russia’s Erzu Zakriyev 7-14, and will wrestle for bronze tomorrow.
Seymur Gasimov (72 kg) lost 2-6 to Armenia’s Gaspar Terteryan in the qualification round. Since his opponent advanced to the final, Gasimov earned the right to compete in the repechage.
Ismayil Rzayev (97 kg) advanced past Korea’s Jaeno Choi with a technical superiority (10-0) and eliminated Armenia’s Grisha Voskanyan on criteria (1-1). In the quarterfinals, however, Rzayev was narrowly defeated by Russia’s Ilya Komarov 3-5.
