The U23 European Wrestling Championship continues in Tirana, the capital of Albania.

Today, the finalists in freestyle wrestling in the 61, 74, 86, 92 and 125 kg categories were determined.

Jeyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg) gave no chance to Albanian Endrio Avdyli in his debut – 10:0. Our compatriot Turkish (U23) European runner-up Tolga Ozbeke won 6:3 and advanced to the semifinals. Jeyhun faced North Macedonian representative Bashir Alili in the semifinals and registered his name in the final with a 6:4 victory. Allahverdiyev will face Armenian Levik Mikayelyan in the decisive match.

Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg) had difficulty at the start and overcame Moldovan Ion Marku on the last points principle (1:1). Our wrestler made a more confident impression in the 1/4 finals, knocking out Italian Raul Cason with a 5:0 victory. In the semifinals, Aganazar was stronger than German Manuel Vagin – 4:2. Novruzov will face Russian Ismail Khaniev in the final.

Arseniy Dzhioyev (86 kg) first sent Armenian Razmik Yepremyan off the mat in disappointment – 10:0. Our representative defeated Moldovan Yevgeny Mihalkeana with a 6:4 score and advanced to the semifinals. Arseniy faced Bulgarian Radomir Stoyanov on the way to the final and was the one who was happy with the “touch”. Dzhioyev will fight for the gold medal with Frenchman Rakhim Magamadov in the final.

Sadiq Mustafazade (92 kg) defeated Recep Haydari of North Macedonia 9:4 and Albin Peposhi of Albania with a complete advantage (10:0) to advance to the semifinals.
