The Wrestling Federation launches a new project

The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation has launched a new project under the slogan “Wrestle Like a Girl.”

The aim of the project is to increase interest in women’s wrestling in the country and to promote mass participation in this sport.

The Federation’s new training center, located in the heart of Baku, will now serve to train future female wrestlers. At the wrestling center situated on Natiq Aliyev Street, training sessions are conducted five days a week by Sabira Aliyeva – European bronze medalist among adults and world champion among juniors – and Leyla Qurbanova, a two-time Islamic Solidarity Games champion, junior world champion, and European silver medalist.

Girls aged 7 to 17 can join the training program by registering at qizkimigules.awf.az.

All training sessions held at the fully equipped wrestling center are free of charge.
