The World’s top beach wrestlers are coming to Baku

The U17 World Beach Wrestling Championships and the fourth stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series will be held in Azerbaijan for the first time from August 27 to 29.

Both competitions will take place at the Sea Breeze resort.

Around 150 young wrestlers from 34 countries will compete for medals at the U17 World Championships on August 27. In the boys’ events, champions will be determined in the 60, 70, 80 and 90 kg weight categories, while the girls will compete in the 45, 55, 65 and 75 kg categories.

The fourth stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series will then take place on August 28-29. More than 60 athletes will compete in the senior event. The men will compete in the 70, 80, 90 and +90 kg weight categories, while the women will compete in the 50, 60, 70 and +70 kg categories.

In total, more than 200 athletes from 34 countries will compete for success on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
