The squad for the European Championship has been announced
 
The European Wrestling Championship will be held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, from April 7 to 13.
In the first days of the continental championship, which will take place at the “X-Bionic” Sports Complex, freestyle wrestlers will compete. Under the leadership of head coach Khetag Gazyumov, senior coach Jabrayil Hasanov, and coaches Taimuraz Kokoyev and Sharif Sharifov, the following athletes will represent Azerbaijan in this important competition: Islam Bazarganov (57 kg), Nuraddin Novruzov (61 kg), Ali Rahimzada (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg), Aganazar Novruzov (74 kg), Orkhan Abbasov (79 kg), Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg), Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg), Abubakr Abakarov (97 kg), and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg).
Later on, four female wrestlers will step onto the mat under the guidance of acting head coach Toghrul Asgarov and senior coach Agahuseyn Mustafayev: Elnura Mammadova (55 kg), Jala Aliyeva (57 kg), Alyona Kolesnik (59 kg), and Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg).
Towards the end of the tournament, our Greco-Roman wrestlers will aim for success. The team is led by head coach Aleksandr Tarakanov, senior coach Rovshan Bayramov, and coaches Hasan Aliyev, Kamran Mammadov, and Elvin Mursaliyev. The wrestlers in this team include: Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Murad Mammadov (63 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg), Ulvu Gani-zade (72 kg), Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg), Qurban Qurbanov (82 kg), Islam Abbasov (87 kg), Murad Ahmadiev (97 kg), and Beka Kandelaki (130 kg).
The matches will begin daily at 12:30 Baku time. Semifinals will start at 18:45, and medal matches will begin at 20:00.
At the European Championship, category I-S referees Asif Shiraliyev and Sadi Guliyev will officiate the matches.
