The girls’ team has won 6 medals at the Gymnasiade.

The wrestling competition at the Gymnasiade held in Zlatibor, Serbia, has concluded for schoolchildren.

Today, the medalists in women’s wrestling were determined.

Under the leadership of coaches Həsrət Məmmədyarov and Solmaz Adilova, 6 members of the team reached the podium.

Our team won 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals in Serbia. Rəna Nuriyeva (62 kg) defeated all her opponents and became the champion. Vidan Babayeva (39 kg), Günel Kərimli (50 kg), and Simurə Abdullayeva (66 kg) won silver, while Gülay Xasməmmədova (33 kg) and Gülnar Ağadadaşova (42 kg) earned bronze medals.

Thus, our wrestlers have won a total of 25 medals (6 gold, 8 silver, 11 bronze) at the Gymnasiade. It should be noted that earlier, the freestyle wrestlers won 10 medals (2 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze), and the Greco-Roman wrestlers earned 9 medals (3 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze).

It is also worth mentioning that Eldar Məmmədov, an international referee with II degree, ensured fairness during the competition in Serbia.
