The All-Republic seminar of coaches has started in Nakhchivan

The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) has launched the Republic-wide seminar for wrestling coaches.

The first event was held in Nakhchivan. The seminar organized for wrestling coaches in the Autonomous Republic consisted of both theoretical and practical parts.

At the theoretical session held in the Nakhchivan AR Ministry of Youth and Sports’ conference hall, Taleh Ibrahimov, Head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Autonomous Republic, noted that the seminar would boost the development of wrestling in Nakhchivan. AWF’s press secretary, Serkhan Musayev, spoke about the recent work done by the federation, ongoing projects, and upcoming plans. Asgerkhan Novruzov, the head coach of the U-17 freestyle wrestling national team, discussed the traditions of wrestling in Nakhchivan and the possibility of further progress in this sport in the Autonomous Republic, especially with coaches working more responsibly. The chairman of the AWF Referee Board, Garib Aliyev, talked about the wrestling rules and highlighted decisions made in controversial moments of various competitions through video analysis.

The practical session of the seminar took place in the sports hall of the Children and Youth Sports School. Asgerkhan Novruzov conducted a sample training, demonstrating various techniques and defense methods in detail.

It is worth noting that the next phase of the wrestling coaches’ Republic-wide seminar will be held tomorrow in the city of Shirvan.
