Squad announced for World Championships

The Wrestling World Championships will be held on September 13–21 in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
Today, the line-up of our teams for the most prestigious wrestling tournament of the year has been announced.
Freestyle wrestlers will compete under the guidance of head coach Khetag Gazumov, senior coach Jabrayil Hasanov, and coaches Taimuraz Kokoyev and Sharif Sharifov. The squad includes Islam Bazarqanov (57 kg), Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg), Ali Rahimzade (65 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg), Turan Bayramov (74 kg), Jabrayil Gadzhiev (79 kg), Arseniy Djioev (86 kg), Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg), Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg).
The women’s wrestling team will then take over. Acting head coach Toghrul Asgarov and coach Hasrat Mammadlyarov will lead Jale Aliyeva (57 kg), Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) and Birgul Soltanova (62 kg) onto the mat.
The final days of the competition will feature Greco-Roman wrestling. Head coach Aleksandr Tarakanov, senior coach Rovshan Bayramov, and coaches Hasan Aliyev, Elvin Mursaliev and Kamran Mammadov will guide Eldeniz Azizli (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), Murad Mammadov (63 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg), Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg), Senan Suleymanov (77 kg), Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg), Islam Abbasov (87 kg), Murad Ahmadiev (97 kg) and Beka Kandelaki (130 kg).
International referee Sadi Guliyev (Class I-S) will officiate at the World Championships.
