Squad Announced for European Championship

The U17 European Championship will take place from June 9 to 15 in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

The rosters for the participating national teams have been finalized.

In the opening days of the tournament, members of the Greco-Roman wrestling team will take to the mats. Under the guidance of head coach Taleh Israfilov and coaches Nazim Ahmadov, Rasim Agayev, and Elbrus Mammadov, the following athletes will aim for success: Abdulrahman Huseynli (45 kg), Gurban Majnunov (48 kg), Elshad Abbasov (51 kg), Ayhan Asadli (55 kg), Ali Nazarov (60 kg), Ramil Musayev (65 kg), Yusif Ahmadli (71 kg), Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg), Said Pashayev (92 kg), and Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg).

The competition will then shift to women’s wrestling. Under the leadership of head coaches Hasrat Mammadov and Solmaz Adilova, the team includes Nazrin Ahmadli (46 kg), Khadija Gurbanzada (49 kg), Fatima Bayramova (53 kg), Ulviyya Musayeva (57 kg), Esra Mammadli (61 kg), Fidan Babayeva (65 kg), and Milana Bagirzade (69 kg).

In the final days, freestyle wrestlers will join the contest, led by head coach Asgarhan Novruzov and coaches Vahid Mammadov and Yashar Aliyev. The roster features Omer Usubov (45 kg), Revan Hasanzada (48 kg), Ramal Mirhuseynov (51 kg), Ruslan Alizade (55 kg), Hasan Hasanov (60 kg), Tunar Nasibov (65 kg), Isa Yusibov (71 kg), Ali Hajiyev (80 kg), Said Pashayev (92 kg), and Hakim Taghiyev (110 kg).

Daytime sessions will begin daily at 12:30 PM Baku time, with evening matches starting at 8:00 PM.

It is noteworthy that first-class referee Vugar Shukurov will officiate at the European Championship.
