Ruzanna reaches the final of the U23 European championship

The U23 European Wrestling Championship continues in the city of Zrenjanin, Serbia.
On the fourth day of the competition, our women wrestlers competing in the 53, 62, and 72 kg weight categories stepped onto the mat.
Nargiz Samedova (53 kg) eliminated Lithuania’s Vestina Daniseviciute (3:0) in the quarterfinal but lost to Ukraine’s Anastasiia Polskaya in the semifinal – 2:4. Our compatriot will face Turkey’s Shevval Cayir tomorrow in the bronze medal match.
Starting the competition with great confidence, Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) defeated Bulgaria’s Fatma Shaban and Turkey’s Gulsum Bingol with a score of 11:0. Mammadova then overcame France’s Iris Tiabon based on the last point principle – 3:3. Ruzanna will face Russia’s Amina Tandelova in the final.
Zahra Karimzade (72 kg) lost in the opening round to Bulgaria’s Daniyela Brasnarova based on the last point principle (2:2).
