Ruzanna Mammadova Reaches World Championship Final!

The U20 World Championships in Samokov, Bulgaria, continue.

On the fourth day of competition, Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) took to the mat.

The European champion opened her campaign with a commanding 11-0 technical superiority win over Kazakhstan’s Aidana Shorayeva. In the quarterfinals, she battled past Uzbekistan’s Nigina Sabirova in a tense encounter, earning a hard-fought 3-2 victory. Mammadova then dominated her semifinal, pinning Turkey’s Busra Efe to advance in style.

For the first time in her career, Mammadova has reached the U20 World Championship final, where she will face China’s Yangzhen Yangzhen tomorrow in the gold medal match.
