Ruzanna Mammadova makes history

The U20 European Wrestling Championships are continuing in Skopje, North Macedonia.

On the fifth day of the competition, the women’s wrestling events concluded.

Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) faced Turkey’s Ozdenur Ozmez in the final. Defeating her opponent 6-0, our compatriot successfully defended her title. With this achievement, Ruzanna became the first Azerbaijani female wrestler in history to win the U20 European Championship title three times.

Zahra Karimzade (72 kg), meanwhile, lost 9-11 to Turkey’s Ilayda Cin in a closely contested bronze-medal bout and finished fifth.
