Renowned wrestlers visit Karabakh University

As part of the “Wrestling in Karabakh” campaign, the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation held an event at Karabakh University located in the city of Khankendi.

The event, organized with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Olympic Committee, took place in the university’s assembly hall.

Well-known Azerbaijani wrestlers, winners and medalists of prestigious competitions — Eldaniz Azizli, Rafiq Huseynov, Maria Stadnik, Rasul Chunayev — as well as the head coach of the national beach wrestling team, Oyan Nazariani, addressed the students. They emphasized that the road to victory is not smooth, noting that they had faced numerous challenges along the way but never lost their fighting spirit. By persevering and continuing to struggle, they ultimately achieved success. The speakers called on young people to always maintain a fighting spirit and to adhere to moral values rooted in national consciousness.

This was followed by an engaging quiz. Students’ knowledge of wrestling was tested through various questions, while the format also provided an opportunity to gain more detailed information about the sport. The quiz, which attracted great interest and was held in a highly competitive atmosphere, concluded with the winners receiving gifts from the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

Afterwards, students asked the wrestlers various questions and received autographs from them. The event concluded with a commemorative photo.

It should be noted that the purpose of the event was to promote Azerbaijani wrestling and its athletes, increase the motivation of the younger generation, and contribute to their development in a spirit of national identity.
