Our wrestlers will participate in the U-20 world championship

The U-20 World Wrestling Championship will be held in the city of Pontevedra, Spain, from September 2 to 8.

In the competition, where around 700 athletes will compete, Greco-Roman wrestlers will perform in the first days. Under the guidance of head coach Nuraddin Rajabov and coaches Emin Ahmadov and Zohrab Abbasov, our country will be represented by Rahim Hasanov (55 kg), Tural Ahmadov (60 kg), Mohammad Shukurzade (63 kg), Tovekgul Haziyev (67 kg), Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg), Davud Mammadov (77 kg), Ismayil Rizayev (82 kg), Cocu Samedov (87 kg), Mikayil Ismayilov (97 kg), and Mezaim Mardanov (130 kg).

Later, under the leadership of head coach Rovshan Umudov and coach Solmaz Adilova, our female wrestlers will take to the mat. The team includes Aysel Mammadzade (50 kg), Asmar Cankurtaran (53 kg), Nargiz Samedova (55 kg), Ruzanna Mammadova (59 kg), and Gunay Gurbanova (62 kg).

At the end of the competition, the baton will be passed to the freestyle wrestlers. Head coach Arif Abdullayev, along with coaches Rovshan Hajiyev and Nazim Alicanov, will work with Bashir Verdiyev (57 kg), Jamal Abbasov (61 kg), Ayhan Abdullazade (65 kg), Omar Gulmammadov (70 kg), Aghanazar Novruzov (74 kg), Emin Gojayev (79 kg), Sadiq Mustafazade (86 kg), Anar Jafarli (92 kg), Khetag Karsanov (97 kg), and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg).

In the World Championship, our Category I referees Elman Ismayilov and Bashir Isazade will ensure fairness.
