Our prominent wrestlers meet with school students

On the occasion of March 5 – Physical Education and Sports Day, our prominent wrestlers met with school students.

Two-time Olympic medalist in freestyle wrestling, three-time world champion, four-time European champion, and coordinator of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), Haji Aliyev met with students of School No. 47. Our titled wrestler had a sincere conversation with the students and answered their questions.

During the meeting, organized within the framework of the “Məktəbdə” project of the Baku City Education Department, H. Aliyev spoke about promoting a healthy lifestyle, the role of sport in the physical and moral development of young people, the responsibility of being a professional athlete, and the path to success. He shared the experience he gained throughout his career with the students and discussed the importance of purposeful work and discipline, as well as the necessity of developing education and sport in parallel. At the end of the event, H. Aliyev distributed autographed photos to the students and took commemorative pictures with them.

Olympic medalist, world and European champion Rasul Chunayev was a guest at School No. 208. The specialist of the AWF’s Department for Work with Regional Offices spoke about his sports career, answered the students’ questions, and shared his advice with them. Later, active students were awarded certificates of honor, and an autograph session with R. Chunayev was held.

After the official part of the event in the assembly hall, a masterclass was organized in the gym. R. Chunayev explained the execution of various techniques to members of the Greco-Roman wrestling team of the Zangilan Youth Sports School.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation plans to organize such events in various schools in order to contribute to raising the younger generation in a healthy spirit, keep them away from harmful habits, increase their motivation, encourage them to engage in sports, and strengthen awareness about wrestling.
