Our National Team Holds Training Camp in Turkey
The women’s wrestling national team has begun an overseas training camp.
Since June 8, the team has been participating in a joint training camp with the Turkish national team in the city of Niğde, Turkey. The camp, which will run until June 25, is expected to include the national teams of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as well.
The camp, aimed at preparing for upcoming international competitions, is led by acting head coach Toghrul Asgarov and senior coach Agahuseyn Mustafayev. The roster includes Asmar Jankurtaran (50 kg), Elnura Mammadova (53 kg), Nargiz Samadova, Gultekin Shirinova (both 55 kg), Jale Aliyeva (57 kg), Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), Ruzanna Mammadova, and Birgul Soltanova (both 62 kg).
It is noted that following the camp, Gunay and Ruzanna will travel to Caorle, Italy, to participate in the U20 European Championship. The remaining wrestlers will compete in the Yasar Dogu, Vehbi Emre, and Hamit Kaplan Memorial Tournament in Kocaeli, Turkey.
