Our National team became European runner-up with a record result

The freestyle wrestling competition at the U23 European Championship has concluded.

Our national team won 1 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals. With 170 points, our team finished second in Europe. The squad was only behind Russia (199) and outscored third-place Armenia by 54 points. The 170 points is the highest score achieved by our national team in freestyle wrestling at U23 European Championships.

It should be noted that among the national team members, Ali Tsokayev (92 kg) won gold; Vasif Baghirov (57 kg), Jeyhun Allahverdiyev (61 kg), Sabuhi Amiraslanov (79 kg), and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) won silver medals; while Musa Aghayev (65 kg), Ramik Heybatov (70 kg), and Zafar Aliyev (97 kg) claimed bronze medals.
