Our Greco-Roman wrestlers won 10 medals in the Gymnasium

The Gymnasiade held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, has concluded.
On the final day, competitions in Greco-Roman wrestling took place. Under the leadership of head coach Taleh Israfilov and coach Rasim Agayev, 10 out of 13 members of our team reached the podium.
Mikayil Ismayilov (110 kg) defeated all his opponents to become the champion. Silver medals were won by Huseyn Aliyev (45 kg), Shahid Nabiyev (48 kg), Nihat Behmanov (51 kg), Emrah Emrahov (55 kg), Akif Najafli (65 kg), and Yusif Ahmadli (71 kg). Bronze medals were claimed by Turan Dashdamirov (55 kg), Nihat Taghiyev (60 kg), and Emil Abbasov (80 kg). With 185 points, our team finished in second place in the team standings.
It is worth noting that earlier in the Gymnasiade, freestyle wrestlers won 11 medals (1 gold, 2 silver, and 8 bronze), while the women’s team secured 3 medals (1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze).
