One More Silver and Two Bronze Medals at the U23 European Championship
The U23 European Wrestling Championship in Tirana, Albania, is drawing to a close.
Today, the first medalists in Greco-Roman wrestling were determined. Our wrestlers ended the day with 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Elmir Aliyev (55 kg) defeated Czech wrestler Filip Bartošek 8-0 in the bronze medal match, claiming third place on the podium.
Ziya Babaşov (63 kg) faced Moldovan Vitali Yeriomenko in the final. Unfortunately, he couldn’t defend his title, losing 1-3. As a result, Babaşov finished the continental championship with a silver medal.
Khasay Hasanli (77 kg) competed in the consolation round during the afternoon session, defeating Bulgarian Albert Doyev 7-3. In the evening session, Hasanli triumphed over Michal Zelenka with a dominant 9-1 victory, securing the bronze medal.
