One gold and one bronze medal in Batumi

The third stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series was held in Batumi, Georgia, on June 20-21.

Under the guidance of national team head coach Oyan Nazariani, Rubaİl Ibrahimli (70 kg), Sahib Dadashov and Vusal Aliyev (both 80 kg), Ashraf Ashirov and Ilgar Nazərli (both 90 kg), and Islam Ilyasov (+90 kg) competed for Azerbaijan in the neighboring country. Two of them reached the podium.

Ashraf Ashirov (90 kg) delivered a successful performance to win the competition. With this result, our compatriot repeated his achievement from the opening stage. It should be noted that Ashirov also claimed the title at the corresponding event held in Da Nang, Vietnam. Vusal Aliyev (80 kg), meanwhile, won a bronze medal in Batumi.
