Squad announced for 3rd CIS Games

From October 3 to 7, wrestling competitions will be held as part of the 3rd CIS Games.

At the Ganja Olympic Sports Complex, the champions in freestyle and women’s wrestling will be determined on October 3–4, while Greco-Roman wrestling will take place on October 7. A total of 150 wrestlers from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will compete. Azerbaijan will be represented at the CIS Games by 27 wrestlers.

In freestyle wrestling, under the guidance of senior coach Asgar Khan Novruzov and coaches Vahid Mammadov and Yashar Aliyev, the following athletes will compete: Huseyn Rzazade (45 kg), Ravan Hasanzade (48 kg), Hajihuseyn Ahmadzade (51 kg), Ibrahim Suleymanov (55 kg), Rashid Nazarov (60 kg), Huseyn Ismayilov (65 kg), Nihad Abasov (71 kg), Ali Hajiyev (80 kg), Amin Nasibov (92 kg), and Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg).

In women’s wrestling, under acting head coach Toghrul Asgarov and coaches Hasrat Mammadayarov and Solmaz Adilova, the lineup includes Gunel Guliyeva (43 kg), Nazrin Ahmadli (46 kg), Khadija Gurbanzade (49 kg), Khadijakhanim Talibova (53 kg), Esra Mammadli (57 kg), Fidan Babayeva (61 kg), and Simura Abdullayeva (65 kg).

In Greco-Roman wrestling, under the leadership of senior coach Taleh Israfilov and coaches Nazim Ahmadov and Rasim Agayev, the national team will feature Omer Salmanov (45 kg), Yusif Mirzayev (48 kg), Elshad Abbasov (51 kg), Hikmat Hagverdiyev (55 kg), Ali Nazarov (60 kg), Nihat Tagiyev (65 kg), Islam Sultanov (71 kg), Nijat Yeylagaliev (80 kg), Emil Abasov (92 kg), and Rauf Mutallimov (110 kg).
