One gold and one bronze at the Memorial

An international Greco-Roman wrestling tournament was held in Novosibirsk, Russia.

The competition, dedicated to the memory of USSR Hero Aleksandr Aksyonov, brought together more than 200 athletes from 10 countries.

Two members of the Azerbaijani national team, competing under the guidance of coaches Sabah Shariati and Zohrab Abbasov, reached the podium. Rashad Mammadov (55 kg) defeated all his opponents to claim the gold medal, while Mahammad Ahmadiev (97 kg) secured bronze.

It should be noted that first-class referee Habib Nurulu officiated at the tournament.
