National teams preparing for major competitions in regional training camps

The national wrestling teams of Azerbaijan are currently holding training camps in different regions of the country.

The U17 freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling national teams, which are preparing for the World Championships to be held in Baku from July 27 to August 2, are training at separate venues. The freestyle wrestling team, which began its training camp at the Khachmaz Olympic Sports Complex on May 24, will conclude the camp on June 6. The Greco-Roman wrestlers are training at the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex, where their camp runs from June 1 to June 11.

The U20 national teams are preparing for the European Championships, scheduled to take place in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, from July 6 to 12, at the same venue. Both teams started their training camp at the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex on June 1. The preparation period will end on June 12.

Meanwhile, the senior freestyle wrestling national team will begin a training camp at the Shamakhi Olympic Sports Complex tomorrow. The camp, which serves as preparation for the year’s final Ranking Series tournament to be held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, from July 15 to 19, will continue until June 20.
