Murad Ahmadiyev won the belt in China

An international wrestling tournament has been held in Xi’an, China.

In the competition called “Belt and Road,” three members of the Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestling team represented the country. The tournament, with participants from around 10 countries, saw Davud Mammadov (77 kg), Murad Ahmadiyev (97 kg), and Serkhan Mammadov (130 kg) competing under the guidance of U-20 national team head coach Nuredin Rajabov and coach Turac Huseynli. U-23 European champion Murad Ahmadiyev won all his matches and claimed the championship belt.

It should be noted that our team will also conduct a training camp in China. For this purpose, our wrestlers have traveled to Wuhan today. The two-week training process will involve not only the aforementioned wrestlers but also Huseyn Savadov (55 kg), Vedat Kasimli (60 kg), Tural Ahmedov (63 kg), Faraim Mustafayev (67 kg), Kamran Rajabli, Sadig Mesimli (both 72 kg), Elmin Aliyev (82 kg), Orkhan Hajiyev (87 kg), and Arif Niftullayev (97 kg).
