Memorial tournament held in Bilasuvar in honour of martyrs

A memorial tournament dedicated to the memory of Azerbaijani servicemen who were killed during the Second Karabakh War, Iqbal Astanli and Babek Mahmudlu, was held in Bilasuvar last week.

More than 330 wrestlers competed in the tournament, which was organized with the support of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation. The U15 competition featured 10 weight categories in Greco-Roman wrestling, with Agil Abbasov (38kg), Haji Huseynzade (41kg), Farid Aghayev (44kg), Azer Huseynov (48kg), Emin Salmanov (52kg), Yusif Mammadov (57kg), Asiman Mammadov (62kg), Murad Novruzzade (68kg), Anar Huseynli (75kg) and Ismayil Mammadov (85kg) claiming the top spot on the podium.

In freestyle wrestling, the champions were Muhammad Hasanli (38kg), Huseyn Nuruzade (41kg), Latif Huseynov (44kg), Mansur Akiykulu (48kg), Akbar Hagverdiyev (52kg), Ramal Suleymanli (57kg), Ismayil Alizade (62kg), Kamil Badalov (68kg), Nuran Hasanli (75kg) and Javid Aliyev (85kg).

It should be noted that the wrestlers who distinguished themselves at the tournament will be invited to join the U15 national teams and will take part in training camps.
