Ibrahim Hasanov reached the final of the European Championships

The U17 European Wrestling Championships continue in Samokov, Bulgaria.
On the sixth day of competition, the finalists in freestyle wrestling were determined in the 45 kg, 51 kg, 60 kg, 71 kg, and 92 kg weight categories.
Tunar Hasanov (45 kg) eliminated Georgia’s Mkrtich Janamyan (3:2), but lost to Ukraine’s Marko Kvasniuk in the quarterfinals with a score of 0:2. Tunar will wrestle Türkiye’s Bugra Eldemir for the bronze medal tomorrow.
Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg) advanced to the final after defeating Ukraine’s Bohdan Kazakov (10:0), Russia’s Khalid Songurbekov (12:0), and Belarus’ Yanis Shapartau by technical superiority. Ibrahim will face Türkiye’s Muhammed Golha in the decisive bout.
Vahid Mammadov (60 kg) defeated Spain’s Samvel Gorgyan by technical superiority (10:0), but lost to Poland’s Witold Pawlik in the quarterfinals on criteria (1:1).
Tunar Guliyev (71 kg) lost to Armenia’s Avetik Tutkhalyan (2:15) in his opening bout.
Elgun Karimli (92 kg) defeated Armenia’s Artur Mkrtchyan (8:0), but lost to Russia’s Abdurazak Shabanov in the quarterfinals – 4:15. Elgun will face Belarus’ Timur Mirzayev in tomorrow’s repechage bout.
