Hasrat Jafarov claims second consecutive world silver

The World Wrestling Championships have concluded in Zagreb, Croatia.

On the final day, medals were awarded in the 63 kg, 67 kg, and 87 kg Greco-Roman weight classes.

For the second time in his career, Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) reached the World Championship final, where he faced Iran’s Olympic champion Saeid Esmaeili. In a tightly contested bout, Jafarov fell by the narrowest of margins (1:2), securing his second straight World silver medal. This marks his third career medal at the senior Worlds (2 silver, 1 bronze).

With Jafarov’s silver, Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman team finished the championships with a total of four medals. Earlier, Ulvi Ghanizade (72 kg) won gold, while Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg) and Murad Ahmadliyev (97 kg) each earned bronze.
