Haji Aliyev Conducts Masterclass for Young Wrestlers

One of the newly established wrestling clubs in Azerbaijan is “Azsport.”

Founded in 2022, the sports club has expanded its activities with financial support from the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AGF) since last year. Located in the Bilajari settlement, “Azsport” offers free training sessions in freestyle wrestling. Currently, around 70 young athletes train under the guidance of coaches Orkhan Karimov, Azer Isayev, and Ibrahim Hadiyev.

To further increase interest and motivation in the sport, two-time Olympic medalist, three-time world champion, and four-time European champion Haji Aliyev conducted a masterclass at “Azsport.” Having retired after the Paris Olympics, Aliyev demonstrated various wrestling techniques to the club members and shared his valuable insights. The event was also attended by AGF’s regional coordinator, Elfaq Safarov, and concluded with a commemorative group photo.
