Gunay Gurbanova wins silver at the European championship

The U20 European Wrestling Championships are continuing in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.

On the fourth day of the competition, the first medalists in women’s wrestling were determined.

Nazrin Ahmadli (50 kg) defeated Moldova’s Mihaela Bakos 4-0 in the repechage, but lost 4-5 to Poland’s Karolina Zien in the bronze-medal bout.

Garatel Guliyeva (55 kg) was unable to overcome Italy’s Angela Casarola in the repechage, losing 0-10.

Gunay Gurbanova, meanwhile, lost 2-10 to Sweden’s Karin Samuelsson in the final and won a silver medal at the U20 European Championships.
