Gunay Gurbanova Crowned European Champion Once Again

The U20 European Championship continues in Caorle, Italy.

Today, the first champions in women’s wrestling have been determined.

Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), who secured a spot in the final yesterday by defeating all her opponents ahead of time, faced Turkey’s Sevim Akbas in the gold medal match. From start to finish, the Azerbaijani wrestler displayed complete dominance, winning decisively with a score of 9:1 to claim the European champion title.

With this victory, Gunay has now won gold in all three competitions she has participated in this year. It is worth noting that Gurbanova had previously claimed titles at the first ranking tournament and the U23 European Championship.
