Gulkhanim and Fatima have a chance to win bronze

The U17 World Wrestling Championships continue in Baku.
On the fourth day of the competition, held at the National Gymnastics Arena, five members of Azerbaijan’s women’s national team took to the mat.
Gulkhanim Shirinova (40 kg) entered the competition in the quarterfinals. Our representative lost by fall to Tunisia’s Tasnim Athimni. As her opponent advanced to the final, Shirinova will compete in the repechage tomorrow.
Nuray Jafarli (46 kg) also began her campaign in the quarterfinals. Although our wrestler built a substantial lead against Hungary’s Vivien Szentpali, she was unable to maintain her advantage until the end, losing 8-10.
Fatima Bayramova (53 kg) defeated Israel’s Sela Rozov and Moldova’s Ruslana Karapetian 11-0 before losing by fall to USA’s Marley Solomon in the quarterfinals. As her opponent advanced to the final, our wrestler will compete in the repechage tomorrow.
Fidan Babayeva (61 kg) lost 2-11 to Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Bakitnura in the Round of 16, while Simura Abdullayeva (69 kg) was defeated 6-10 by Kyrgyzstan’s Milana Ulanova at the same stage.
