Greco-Roman wrestlers have won 9 medals at the Gymnasiad

The Gymnasiad has officially kicked off in Zlatibor, Serbia, with a day of freestyle wrestling competitions. Under the leadership of coaches Namiq Quliyev and Elşad Allahverdiyev, the entire Azerbaijani team claimed podium positions. The wrestlers earned an impressive total of 2 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals.

Elman İsmayılov (38 kg) and İbrahim Həsənov (44 kg) triumphed over all their opponents. Hüseyn Rzazadə (41 kg), Fərid Hüseynli (52 kg), and Məhəmməd Həsənli (62 kg) only faced defeat in the finals. Tamerlan Namazlı (48 kg), Elcan Həsənov (57 kg), Xəyal Şükürlü (68 kg), Elvin Necəfzadə (75 kg), and Tural Eynullayev (85 kg) secured third place.

Tomorrow, the competition will continue with the Greco-Roman wrestling event.
