Freestyle Wrestling Team Becomes European Runners-Up

The U20 European Championship in Caorle, Italy has concluded.

The freestyle wrestling team of Azerbaijan secured five medals at the continental championship, including 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze, accumulating a total of 133 points to finish as European runners-up. Georgia (164 points) took first place, while Ukraine (81 points) finished in third.

Under the leadership of head coach Arif Abdullayev, along with coaches Rovshan Hajiyev and Ashraf Aliyev, the team saw Vasif Baghirov (57 kg) claim gold, while Muradkhan Omarov (79 kg) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) won silver. Omar Gulmammadov (74 kg) and Anar Jafarli (92 kg) each secured bronze medals.
