Four More Bronze Medal Opportunities at World Championships

The U17 World Wrestling Championships continue in Athens, Greece.
On the sixth day of competition, freestyle wrestlers in the 45, 51, 60, 71, and 92 kg weight classes began their campaigns.
Sadiq Ismayilov (45 kg) was unable to overcome Russia’s Ibrahim Veliullov in his opening match, losing 4:12.
Ramal Mirhuseynov (51 kg) was defeated in the Round of 16 by Uzbekistan’s Ulugbek Rashidov with a score of 0:11.
Hasan Hasanov (60 kg) started strong with a 6:2 victory over Uzbekistan’s Fakhriddin Nasriddinov but was later outwrestled by Japan’s Rihito Hiyura in the Round of 16 – 0:7.
Rashad Veysali (71 kg) beat Poland’s Ismail Erzanukayev in a close contest – 9:6 – but then fell to American Jayden James by technical superiority – 2:13 – in the next round.
Said Pashayev (92 kg) secured a 5:4 win against Algeria’s Abderrahmane Meziti in the opening round but was later defeated 3:6 by Russia’s David Dzebishov in the Round of 16.
Ramal, Hasan, Rashad, and Said will all compete in the repechage round tomorrow for a chance to wrestle for bronze.
