Five medals in Romania

The “Ion Corni̦anu & Ladislau Simon” Memorial Tournament in wrestling was held in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

Azerbaijan was represented by members of the Greco-Roman wrestling national team at the memorial tournament.

Competing under the guidance of head coach Nureddin Rajabov and coach Rovshan Bayramov, our wrestlers won five medals at the traditional event. Farid Sadikhli (55 kg), Farid Khalilov (67 kg), Gurban Gurbanov (87 kg) and Mazayim Mardanov (130 kg) claimed gold medals, while Ilkin Gurbanov (63 kg) won bronze.

Our national team finished second in the team standings.
