Final day of the European championships: 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze for our team

The European Wrestling Championships in Tirana, the capital of Albania, have come to an end.

On the final day of the competition, medalists were determined in freestyle wrestling across the 61 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg, and 125 kg weight categories.

Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg) lost the bronze medal match to Italian Simeone Piroddu by fall and finished the tournament in 5th place.

Turan Bayramov (74 kg) lost the final to Slovakian Taymuraz Salkazanov by a score of 2:4 and took the silver medal.

Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg) also lost in the final to Russian Ibrahim Kadiev by a narrow margin (1:2) and became European silver medalist.

Ali Tsokayev (92 kg) defeated Bulgarian Ahmed Bataev in the final with a score of 5:3, winning his first European title and climbing to the top of the podium.

The final match of the championship featured Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg), who gave no chance to Hungarian Vladislav Baitsaev (8:0) and defended his title, becoming European champion for the second time in his career.

Thus, our freestyle wrestling national team concluded the championship with a total of 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
