Esra Mammadli was 5th in WC

The U-17 World Wrestling Championship in Amman, Jordan, continues.

On the third day of the championship, two members of the women’s team joined the competition.

Esra Mammadli (49 kg) achieved a confident victory in the 1/8 finals over Kyrgyzstan’s Feruza Akmatbekova with a score of 8:1. Our wrestler then defeated Hungary’s Sonya Nemet with a score of 4:0, advancing to the semifinals. However, Mammadli was unable to overcome Japan’s Utaha Yui in the semifinals, losing 0:9. The next day, Esra wrestled for the bronze medal against Polina Bochkaryova. She lost to her Russian opponent 0:9 and had to settle for 5th place.

Fidan Babayeva (57 kg) lost her debut match to Belarusian Palina Brahinets with a score of 0:2.
