Beach wrestling season kicks off in Vietnam

The new beach wrestling season is set to begin.

The first stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series among seniors will be held on May 9-10 in Da Nang, Vietnam.

A total of 40 athletes from 14 countries are expected to compete in four weight categories in the men’s event. Led by head coach Oyan Nazariani, Azerbaijan will be represented at the World Series by Rubail Ibrahimli (70 kg), Vusal Aliyev, Sahib Dadashov (both 80 kg), and Ashraf Ashirov (90 kg).

The first two rounds of the group stage will take place tomorrow. The final group-stage round, semifinals, and medal bouts will be held the following day.
