Beach wrestlers set for World Championship test

Tomorrow, the U17 Beach Wrestling World Championships will kick off in Katerini, Greece.

A total of 10 Azerbaijani wrestlers will compete under the guidance of head coach Oyan Nazariani.

In the boys’ competition, the national team will be represented by Alirza Heybatli and Eljan Hasanov (both at 60 kg), Rashad Aliyev and Ruslan Valiyev (both at 70 kg), Elvin Hajiguliyev and Nihad Suleymanli (both at 80 kg), as well as Mohlat Gasimov and Elgun Karimli (both at 90 kg).

For the first time, Azerbaijan will also be represented in the girls’ division, where Ulviyya Musayeva (55 kg) and Rana Nuriyeva (65 kg) will aim for a successful debut.

International referee (Class I-S) Sadi Guliyev will officiate at the World Championships.
