Azerbaijan wrestling championships to be held in Ganja

From February 3 to 13, Ganja will host the next wrestling festival.

Thus, the U20 Azerbaijan Championships in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling will take place on February 3–7. On the following day, the national championships in women’s wrestling for the U15 and U17 age groups will be held. From February 9 to 13, the U17 Azerbaijan Championships in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling will be staged at the Ganja Sports Palace.

The competitions, which will last 11 days, will be organized in accordance with the regulations of United World Wrestling (UWW). The bouts will be officiated not only by local referees (international and national category) but also by top-category (I-S) referees invited from abroad.

Wrestlers who finish in the top three at the championships will form the rosters of the respective national teams. The opening ceremony of the U20 Azerbaijan Championship will take place on February 3 at 17:00, while the opening ceremony of the corresponding competition in the U17 age group will begin on February 9 at 17:00. During the competitions, which promise interesting surprises for fans, the daytime session will start at 10:00, and the evening session featuring the decisive bouts will begin at 17:00.

It should be noted that the Ganja Sports Palace also hosted the U15 national wrestling championship last year.
