An open freestyle wrestling training was held in Zugulba

An open freestyle wrestling training session was held.

On September 14, an open freestyle wrestling training session was organized at the Zugulba Training and Sports Base of the “Education” Republican Sports Center.

The session was attended by coaches and teachers from children’s and youth sports and chess schools, as well as athletes consisting of teenage and young wrestlers. During the open session, discussions were held on the athletes’ preparation for competitions, improving techniques and tactics, and a number of tasks were assigned to the athletes.

The event was attended by the Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Nəsimi Musayev; member of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Olympic and 3-time European champion, 3-time world silver medalist Namiq Abdullayev; Chairman of the Fair Play Commission of the National Olympic Committee, world and 2-time European champion Xəzər İsayev; head coach of the women’s wrestling team, Olympic and 2-time European champion, world silver medalist Toğrul Əsgərov; and 2-time Olympic medalist, 4-time European champion, and 3-time world champion Hacı Əliyev. These esteemed athletes shared valuable advice with the young wrestlers.

The main goal of organizing the session was to promote a healthy lifestyle and wrestling among children and youth, facilitate meetings between famous athletes and young wrestlers, and develop wrestling as a sport.

At the end of the event, certificates were presented to the young athletes who participated in the open session, and commemorative photos were taken.
