AGF officials held a meeting at the Military Institute

The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) continues its efforts to promote wrestling across the country.

On November 8, ahead of the Victory Day, the AWF provided wrestling equipment for the wrestling hall of the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute.

Officials from the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation held a meeting today at the Military Institute, which was established in 1918. The event was attended by Colonel Umidvar Guliyev, Rector of the Military Institute, Colonel Irshad Seyidov, Head of the Physical Training and Sports Department, AWF Secretary General Nəsimi Musayev, Executive Committee member Namiq Abdullayev, Deputy Secretary General Orxan Məmmədov, Head Coach of the Freestyle National Team Cəbrayıl Həsənov, Head Coach of the Greco-Roman National Team Rövşən Bayramov, and other individuals.

It was noted that the Military Institute currently hosts training sessions in 17 different sports, with wrestling being a priority. It was emphasized that the AWF’s provision of wrestling equipment contributes significantly to increasing the popularity and love for wrestling among the institute’s cadets, as well as playing a crucial role in improving their overall training.

The guests then observed a sample training session and the wrestling experts offered their recommendations to the cadets.
